5 Pointed Star Applique

I just worked this up really quick, so if there are any mistakes please let me know!

This, like most of my patterns, is designed so it can be used with any yarn and any hook size. I used 8ply acrylic yarn with a 3mm hook. If you go up a yarn size or hook size, it should get bigger.

Very very simple.

5 Point Star Applique (Free Pattern)

Chain 4, , slip stitch into 4^th chain from hook to make a ring. Chain 2.

HDC into ring 12 times.  Sl to top of ch2.

Chain 6. Sl in third stitch from hook.

Chain 6. Sl in 3^rd chain from hook.

Chain 6. Sl in 3^rd chain from hook.

Chain 6, sl in 2^nd chain from hook.

Chain 6, sl in 2^nd chain from hook (will be the base of first chain 6).

Chain 1.

5hdc, ch2, 5dc in every ch6 space.

Slip stitch into the base of the first ‘petal’

Finish off and weave in ends. <3 Have fun!

Super Duper Easy Wristlets

Another quick pattern that I whipped up last week. Fun, quick and super easy to do!

Super Duper Easy Wristlets (Free Pattern)

I used a size 5.5mm hook and 8ply acrylic yarn. You can experiment with whatever works best for you J

Gauge is not a hugely important factor, but if you crochet tight, the wristlets will be tighter!

Special Notes: At the start of each round of HDC you should be chaining 2.

CH27

1.     Sc 2^nd chain from hook, sc in all stitches to end. (26sts)

2.      Join ends together with a slip stitch. Ch1, sc in same stitch. (Optionally you can join the chain).

3.       Ch2, HDC in all 26 sts, sl to top of ch2

4.      Ch2, Hdc in all 26 sts, sl to top of ch2

5.      Ch2, Hdc in all 26sts, sl to top of ch2

6.     Repeat #5 until the tube is the desired length. If too loose, do the two last rounds with 3 hdc2tog evenly in each round.

BASE OF Wrist and Up

7.     Ch2, HDC around twice.

8.      Ch2, HDC in next 20sts, sl to top of ch2.

9.       Ch1, HDC around 21sts. Repeat until it is the desired height on hand.

10.   Sl to the start of last round.

11.   Finish off, weave in ends.

OPTIONAL (recommended)

Take a secondary colour, slip stitch into an stitch along base. Chain 1, SC in each stitch and sl at the end. Chain 2, HDC around once or twice (I did twice here and once on the top), sl to start, finish off and weave in ends.

Repeat for the top of the wristlet.

Easy Crown Headband Pattern

I'm back =D Been a busy couple of weeks, surprisingly, because nothing is busy in my life (except the busy bodies).

So, I promised to put this up last week and it totally slipped my mind, so I'll put it up now :)

Easy Crown Headband (Free Pattern)

I used a 5.5mm hook, any hook will work, but bear in mind it will be thicker or thinner depending.

I used 8ply acrylic, again, any yarn can be used, but may change the appearance.

Chain a multiple of 4 (8,16,20,24 etc) which is slightly bigger or equal to head size. Add 1 extra chain at the end. (If you wish to work in the round, the added chain is not necessary, just continue from the second half of the first instruction

1.       Single crochet in 2^nd chain from hook, and all the way along. Turn.

2.       Chain 1, Half double crochet along length (If you wish for the band to be wider, repeat this row as many times as desired). Turn

3.       Chain 4, slip stitch in 4^th chain from hook. Repeat to the end. Turn

4.       (You can change colour here if you want to). Chain 1, in each of the ch4 spaces, sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc. 

5.       Slip stitch somewhere at the end, finish off and weave in ends. 

You can attach yarn to make a braided knot to join, use a button or stitch the ends together.

Sunset Lap Blanket

Hello again! No pattern this time, but I've been busy busy busy!

Have finally fallen in love with granny squares. Even sent off my first square ofr a swap today. Definitely exciting!

What I did want to quickly share with you is the small lap blanket I made last night. Even though I chose the colours, it took on a life of it's own and I am in love with the colours.

Crochet Flower Pattern

Five & 6 Petal Flower (Free Pattern)

So it was time for me to write up this pattern, after some confirmation that it would actually be worth it! I've been hella busy the last few days, got my first few paid orders, so that is definitely exciting, and spend far too much (jokes) on yarn and supplies!

So, without further ado, my flower pattern.

Five & 6 Petal Flower

Any yarn or hook size will work for these, just depends on what you want! I used a 6mm and 100% acrylic yarn for the above pictured, and they are palm sized.

Create a magic circle.
3 DC into circle, chain 2. Repeat 4 times for a 5 petal flower, repeat 5 times for a 6 petal flower.
Make sure you chain 2 before slip stitching to start! You should have 5 or 6 ch2sp.

slip stitch in next DC to reach your first ch2. 6DC in ch2sp. Slip stitch in next 2 DC, 6 DC in ch2sp. Repeat around. When you finish your last petal, slip stitch into first DC, finish and weave in ends.

Quirky Heart

 So, I was fiddling around, trying to create a teddy bear applique (that has not yet come to fruition). Instead, I ended up with what can only be called a 'Quirky Heart'. You could use these as embellishments for scarves & hats, or hang them like a garland. Throw them on a card, or just have them on a table as something cute.

Since it is such a simple and easy pattern (and my first pattern ever) I thought I'd give it to you for free! How cool is that?
